Will Wright at Accelerating Change
Tuesday, April 19, 2005

Will Wright (SimCity, the Sims) talks about "Sculpting Possibility Space" at Accelerating Change 2004 held at Stanford University, November 5-7, 2004. Wright is a good and informal speaker. He covers a lot of territory at a superficial level and leaves one excited at the possibilities. The bits I found most interesting in this talk were the appeal of bringing players onto the development team as content creators (distributed creation), the social aspects of game play and community building, and finding ways to make rapid use of the data collected from players to sculpt the game, possibly in real time. Recommended.
