Good example of sophisticated technology succuming to simple means

This wonderfully clever exploit is actually from 2002 but it is still a good warning that our technology may not be as fool proof as we'd often like to believe.

A Japanese cryptographer has demonstrated how fingerprint recognition devices can be fooled using a combination of low cunning, cheap kitchen supplies and a digital camera.
