Anatomy of the Grid
, 0 , (Paper URL)
Wednesday, April 7, 2004

This readable paper by Foster, Kesselman and Tuecke provides an overview of the Grid as a means of handling "coordinated resource sharing and problem solving in dynamic, multi-institutional virtual organization". They outline the general structure of the Grid in terms of protocols and dismiss common misperceptions such as "The Grid is the Internet" or "The Grid is a distributed OS".
